What happened
The UK DPA fined Solarwave Limited approximately €116,000 (£100,000) for sending direct marketing communications to individuals registered with the Telephone Preference Service who had not given their prior consent. In calculating this fine, the DPA considered, among other things, that Solawave Limited acted contrary to detailed guidelines it ought to have been aware of, and continued to make unsolicited calls pending the outcome of the ICO's investigation.
