What happened
The Danish DPA reprimanded Jysk Fynske Medier, a media group, for its Pay-or-Okay mechanism. Consenting to cookies would give users only limited access to the website. Instead, if they paid the subscription, they would enjoy all the available content. In this case, consent was not freely given because the available content was not equivalent between the two ways of getting access.
