What happened
The DPA fined a controller who carried out telephone canvassing campaigns using data purchased with data suppliers €310,000 for, among other things, not having a legal basis for processing. The controller did not appear in the data supplier’s list of partners, which did not allow the use of legitimate interest, and the data suppliers used a deceptive design when collecting consent.
